What is teeth whitening?

Why can’t I use over-the-counter kits for teeth whitening?
Over-the-counter (OTC) teeth whitening kits only remove the stains on the surface of your teeth. They can’t penetrate your enamel to break up the discoloration in your dentin. That’s why they only lighten your teeth by a few shades and the results don’t last long.
The OTC kits also take days to weeks to make even a subtle change in whiteness and brightness. In contrast, professional teeth whitening only takes an hour and lightens your teeth by up to 16 shades.
How does Opalescence Boost brighten my smile?
Opalescence gels contain active teeth-whitening oxides that penetrate your enamel, where they come into contact with stain molecules. The oxides break the bonds that hold the stains together and drench your teeth with oxygen, whitening your teeth both inside and out.
You don’t need to expose your teeth to bright lights during an Opalescence treatment; the chemicals do all of the work. The Opalescence gels are also formulated to prevent your teeth from becoming dehydrated.
How does KöR brighten my smile?
The KöR Dual-Activated, Tri-Barrel™ Hydremide® Peroxide system whitens teeth without lights or lasers. The gels are refrigerated to preserve their effectiveness. The peroxide breaks up stains on your teeth and replaces them with whitening oxygen.
The KöR system actually trains your teeth to stay white by conditioning them and making them more permeable to bleaching agents. KöR whitens your teeth by up to 16 shades.
How long will my teeth stay white?
